FAQs

Are there any costs besides tuition?

There will be additional costs for books and sometimes a supplies fee for certain classes. If you use Nicole the Math Lady, there is a $50 per year discounted fee. Click on the course descriptions on the classes page to view what books may need to be purchased.

How much work is it for the parent?

Parents are responsible for setting aside funding, whether out of pocket or through a program. They supervise their child's progress, submitting any necessary work samples and grades if using charter school funds. They can use extra time or days to shore up any deficiencies they may see in their child's learning. If doing less than 4 days/week, they will have homework to supervise on at least 2 days per week. You will log in to our website to view each teacher's page and assignments.

How much homework will there be?

Besides Monday/Wednesday class time, plan for approximately 2 hours per subject per week. This can be done at home or with our teachers on Tuesday/Thursday.

Can I enroll in multiple campuses?

Yes, if different campuses meet your needs, you may take classes at both at the middle and high school levels. This is not recommended at the elementary level.

What if my teacher doesn't show up on the list as an approved vendor with my school?

Some of our teachers are new to the process and will commit to becoming a vendor approved to direct bill as soon as their paperwork goes through. This process can take some time.

Do you use religious curriculum?

No, our curriculum is not religious and can be reimbursed by allotment programs. The only exception is On Purpose Plus, which is an online only option.

What happens on Tuesdays and Thursdays?

These days from 9 am to 1 pm is for our 4-day students who will be completing assignments, participating in PE, eating together, and engaging in enrichment activities at our north campus. The afternoons from 1-3 pm is reserved for electives that can be taken with the Complete Package or a-la-carte.

Do you use the same schedule as public school?

No, we operate only 14 weeks per semester and we don't take days off for single-day holidays. This gives you extra time for family holidays and such. It also allows time to pursue other avenues of learning. If you have to miss class, there is no penalty, but we trust you to make sure that your student continues their learning.

What are your disciplinary procedures?

We are here to help your student learn. learning is not happening, whether the student is being disruptive, uncooperative, or unproductive, the student will be sent home. We also do not tolerate bullying in the classroom. We want to protect all of our students' right to learn in a safe environment.

How do I access funding?

You may enroll with one of the many charter/correspondence school programs serving your area. Please reach out to us to learn more. Some programs cover the 2-day M/W Package and some cover the Complete 4-day package.

How do I secure an a-la-carte class?

Electives can be taken a-la-carte as space allows. A-la-carte core classes are best secured early for middle and high schoolers as we hold a handful of these spots for this purpose. For elementary students, we may open up a-la-carte options if we have room. Please inquire about availability. A-la-carte classes are $100 extra per class.

How do grades work?

Teachers use iGradePlus.com to record grades and communicate them with parents. However, if a parent feels a child has earned a different grade, they are ultimately responsible to report the grade they feel their student has earned if using a correspondence program.

Are your teachers vetted?

Our teachers become approved vendors with ASD and must submit to background checks and  fingerprinting. They also carry their own insurance with their educational businesses.
